Overview

TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a Sr. Field Engineer to join our team! The Sr. Field Engineer is the go-to expert dispatched for the toughest on-site challenges—major turn-ups, network cutovers, emergency restorations, and acceptance testing. You will plan and execute complex builds, lead field crews, perform deep-dive RF/IP/power diagnostics, and serve as the primary technical interface for customers and project managers. Beyond hands-on work, you will mentor junior technicians and help shape standards that raise quality, safety, and speed across the entire field organization.

Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install, integrate, and commission Samsung equipment to Samsung standards.
  • Install, Commission and integrate Juniper ACX series routers to manufacturers and Samsung specifications.
  • Support On-Site Field Work, technical work, installations, testing, and troubleshooting of backhaul, transmission methodology.
  • Integration & Testing
  • Work with RF engineers and remote testers to ensure site readiness and KPI compliance
  • Execute RMA process including field trouble-shooting, replacement and administrative completion. Process may require interfacing with customer, subcontractors and multiple groups within Samsung organization.
  • Conduct or assist in all field engineering activities in support of field trials (FIT/FOA/FFA).
  • Execute RF field test plans for technology features and performance.
  • Accountable for driving field integration testing efforts (FFA/FIT/FFA) of all 4G/5G key features with customers, including test plan development, reviewing test plan with internal teams, driving cross-functional teams to execution, review of test results, issue identification, analysis and quality proofing.
  • Manage field engineering walk/drive testing,
  • Perform ad-hoc field testing as needed.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Report to Regional Field Ops Manager with daily status of activities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations, compile and analyze data and engineering information for the effective communication of processes, results, plans, recommendations, and conclusion.
  • Scheduling and assignment of daily tasks and site work to Field Technicians.
  • Customer Liaison for Network Operations including Samsung integration into customer processes and design procedures as well as handoff between organizations.
  • Able to create/follow/update tickets via Ticketing tools for work assignments

Leadership & Communication

  • Review internal documentation for accuracy and provide updates/corrections as appropriate.
  • Communicate clearly with project managers, site leads, and customer contacts.
  • Represent Market or Region Field Ops Team in periodic status meetings relative to overall project including daily, weekly and monthly progress by site, market or region.
  • Support subcontractors in growth of knowledge base for project fulfillment through field training efforts with the objective of expanding engineering expertise.
  • Provide direction to field engineers (internal and external) to meet overall project objectives.
  • Goal is to ensure all field engineers are on track to meet project milestones and to redirect as necessary.
  • Interface with customer and other Samsung teams via conference calls and/or in-person field activities.
  • Interface with software/hardware design groups and provide assistance for their activities of debugging and resolution.
  • Perform limited project management to ensure all RF Engineering deliverables are met.
  • Support subcontractors in growth of knowledge base for project fulfillment through field training efforts with the objective of expanding engineering expertise.
  • Create or assist with the creation of CIQ.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering with more than 10 years of directly related experience in telecom field installation, integration, or maintenance required, or 15 years of directly related experience with lesser degree.
  • Must have practical, hands-on ability to use and navigate Linux in daily working environment for everyday tasks.
  • Field or Network Engineering Experience in Wireless Network Design & Implementation including LTE- 4G/5G, IP, Router/Switching, Commissioning, Base Station Installation, & Commissioning, RF Design and Performance.
  • Must be able to support presentation of technical information in various business settings to audiences of varying backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to communicate key technical concepts and the ability to package complex ideas into logical, easy-to-follow progressions.
  • Successful track record defining direction and providing specific instruction for engineering projects/programs, leveraging personal knowledge and organizational skills to increase team efficiency, facilitate personal development, and mentor colleagues.
  • Must have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, integrity, and work extremely well independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license
  • Must be able to travel on short notice during the project more than 75% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Experience with GIS and mapping tools is a plus.
  • Samsung LTE/5G experience is a plus.
  • CBRS CPI Certification is a plus.

Tools & Equipment Used:

  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with 4G and 5GDeployment, Test, Optimization and Troubleshooting for mmWave and Sub-6 GHz systems as well as their associated parameters.
  • Experience with UE data collection and post-processing tools, preferably Accuver XCAL and XCAP.
  • Experience in testing and trialing various 4G/5G features.
  • Experience with CBRS, Massive-MIMO, and TDD systems is strongly desired.
  • A solid understanding of RF fundamentals and data network protocols.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Base Station Vendor equipment (Samsung, Alcatel Lucent, Ericsson).
  • Proficient in MS Office package.
