Overview

TeleWorld Solutions is seeking an experienced Wi-Fi Test & Performance Engineer to lead validation and performance benchmarking for next-generation wireless solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise in Wi-Fi standards, RF technologies, and advanced testing methodologies with hands-on experience in lab and field environments. The ideal candidate will design and execute test plans, analyze KPIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive Wi-Fi test plans focused on functionality, performance, and user experience.
  • Validate compliance with 11 standards (including a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be).
  • Perform packet analysis at Layer 2 & Layer 3 using tools like Wireshark and Omnipeek; troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
  • Conduct Rate vs Range (RVR), throughput, latency, and stress testing (e.g., overnight iPerf runs).
  • Perform failure analysis and root-cause debugging for hardware, software, and system-level issues.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks and integrate new Wi-Fi features.
  • Document test results, generate detailed reports, and present findings to senior management.
  • Support interoperability testing across multi-vendor environments.
  • Prepare hardware setups (OS installs, Wi-Fi module swaps, dual-boot configurations) and manage lab infrastructure.
  • Work with development teams to integrate new Wi-Fi features and technologies into existing systems
  • Perform failure analysis to identify hardware or software issues through laboratory and field experiments. Diagnosing and resolving issues related to Wi-Fi connectivity, performance, and security.
  • Conduct in-depth Wi-Fi analysis of hardware, software, and system issues, including protocol stack analysis (PHY, MAC, Network, and Application layers).
  • Generating comprehensive system performance test reports that include key performance indicators, highlighting critical issues, and providing a concise, data-driven summary for senior management review.
  • Apply data-driven expertise and deep engineering knowledge to influence program decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations for performance improvements.
  • Work with development teams to integrate new Wi-Fi features and technologies into existing systems.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of Wi-Fi performance experience.
  • Strong understanding of Wi-Fi protocols, PHY/MAC layers, RF/OTA/Antenna technologies, and wireless communication theory.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and analysis tools: Ekahau, Wireshark, Omnipeek.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, architecture and technologies: DHCP, DOCSIS, VLANs, TCP/IP etc.
  • Knowledge of security protocols: WPA, WPA2, WPA3.
  • Lab and field testing experience with Ruckus T670 and T811-CM access points and Wi-Fi controllers.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Certifications: CWNA, CWAP.
  • Scripting experience (Python, Shell, Matlab) for test automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with system-level simulations and performance benchmarking.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Wi-Fi controllers and remote troubleshooting.
  • Ability to travel for field testing and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Experience with lab operating equipment (Wi-Fi chambers, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, oscilloscopes).
