As a RAN Test Engineer III, you will play a critical role in validating next-generation LTE and 5G NR Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies. This role sits at the intersection of product validation, performance engineering, and customer engagement, ensuring seamless interoperability and best-in-class network performance.

You’ll work hands-on in lab and customer environments, collaborating with global teams to bring innovative wireless solutions to life.

Product & Feature Validation

• Lead end-to-end validation of LTE & 5G RAN products focusing on:
• Air interface performance
• Call processing
• End-to-end system behavior
• Translate product and feature requirements into comprehensive system-level test cases
• Execute validation in customer labs and internal environments

Performance Analysis & Optimization

• Perform deep analysis of:
• 4G/5G KPIs and performance metrics
• Protocol stack behavior (PHY → PDCP)
• Evaluate new product features and software releases for performance readiness
• Identify optimization opportunities and drive improvements

Testing & Troubleshooting

• Execute and manage feature validation, IOT testing, and system integration testing
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex RAN issues
• Utilize advanced test tools such as:
• XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark
• Channel Emulators, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators

Customer Engagement & Delivery

• Present validation results, reports, and insights to customers
• Lead technical review sessions and product demonstrations
• Educate customers on new features, capabilities, and best practices
• Ensure customer commitments and delivery timelines are successfully met

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with internal teams across:
• Engineering
• Logistics
• Samsung HQ & regional organizations
• Support new product rollouts, upgrades, and deployments
• Contribute to MOP validation and network element management activities

Technical Leadership

• Recognized as a validation expert, capable of driving solutions in complex technical environments

• Confident presenting to customers, leadership, and global stakeholders

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (required)
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in wireless/RAN testing
• OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of 4G LTE & 5G NR technologies, including:
• DL/UL scheduling
• Power control
• Beamforming
• MIMO
• EN-DC
• Deep understanding of:
• RAN architecture & air interface technologies
• Protocol stack: PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP
• Experience with:
• 3GPP standards and release cycles
• System testing: validation, test planning, parameter tuning
• Lab and IOT testing environments
• EMS systems and network element management
• Software upgrades, MOP validation
• Familiarity with:
• NB-IoT, eMTC
• S1 / X2 interfaces
• Core + RAN integration

Nice to Have

• Exposure to software development or automation scripting
• Experience working in multi-vendor environments (Samsung, Ericsson, Nokia, etc.
