Overview

TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and grow our Data Center Services business unit. This position is responsible for business unit performance, operational execution, workforce development, customer satisfaction, and financial results. The Director translates strategic business objectives into actionable operational plans, develops organizational capacity to support awarded work, and leads project managers, site leaders, and field teams across multiple locations.

The Director oversees the successful delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects, including structured copper and fiber cabling, high-count fiber deployments, pathway and containment systems, rack and cabinet installation, testing, documentation, and project turnover. This role partners closely with Sales, Estimating, Finance, Safety, Quality, and key customer stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from opportunity pursuit through project closeout.

National travel is required based on business and customer needs.

Responsibilities

Operational Success

  • Own the unit operating plan, revenue and gross-margin forecasts, project controls, resource allocation, and corrective action for underperforming work.
  • Set portfolio delivery standards from preconstruction and mobilization through installation, testing, commissioning support, as-builts, and accepted closeout.
  • Lead project and field managers in schedule control, change management, subcontractor coordination, procurement readiness, customer communication, and escalation.
  • Enforce safety, live-site change-control, quality, and documentation requirements; use incident and near-miss learning, audits, and rework trends to improve execution.

People Development

  • Plan workforce capacity by role and project phase; recruit, onboard, deploy, and retain qualified project and field leaders and technical teams.
  • Set expectations and coach managers; use regular performance conversations, development plans, succession plans, and internal advancement to build leadership depth.
  • Maintain a skills and readiness view across regions and service lines so assignments match demonstrated competence and customer/site requirements.

Training Program

  • Own a role-based training program with onboarding, safety and site requirements, technical learning paths, supervised practice, and practical assessment.
  • Partner with technical leads and vendors on fiber handling, splicing and testing, copper installation, pathways, racks, mapping, and documentation standards.
  • Track required credentials and documented field-readiness signoffs before deployment; review assessment results and training gaps with operating leaders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Substantial progressive leadership experience in data center construction or services, including multi-project or multi-site operational responsibility and direct leadership of managers and field teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of project financials, forecasting, labor plans, schedules, change control, customer commitments, and corrective action across a portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling and fiber infrastructure, pathways, racks, testing, mapping, as-builts, and turnover in mission-critical environments.
  • Ability to lead safe work in active facilities, including customer procedures, method-of-procedure controls, and applicable electrical and site-safety requirements.
  • Strong commercial judgment, customer communication, cross-functional leadership, and willingness to travel nationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a data center services business unit, regional operation, or program-management office with traveling workforces.
  • OSHA 30, PMP, RCDD, DCDC, CESCP, CDCP, or relevant OEM, BICSI, ETA, or FOA training and certifications.
  • Experience establishing a practical technical training program and competency-based deployment process.
